The 1st Annual New Mexico Transgender Summit is hosted by the New Mexico HIV Community Planning and Action Group to address the needs of the transgender community in New Mexico with regards to HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD's prevention and testing.
The summit will be held at the Los Griegos Community Center at 1231 Candelaria NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
It is our hopes that both those from the transgender community and the professional community will come together to start a dialog on the needs for prevention and testing services.
We will have speakers giving presentations on TG 101, HIV prevention, and transgender youth in the morning while the afternoon will consist of breakout sessions to address the needs in legal issues, housing and shelters, healthcare, mental health, law enforcement and corrections, and of course HIV/STD prevention issues.
Please join us in helping to identify the needs for this very much under served community in New Mexico. Lets make a difference and show that New Mexico is a leader in issues related to the overall health of the tansgender community.
Registration is limited and we need to have your registration by April 16, 2010.
