Destination Q, Albuquerque is conducting a logo contest with submissions due July 10, 2009. The winning logo (or logos) will be used for a variety of media for the promotion of Albuquerque as a GLBTQ travel destination and will represent a variety of member businesses and organizations.  The winner will be announced on July 24, 2009.  

The final logo will potentially be used in print ads, outdoor, brochures, postcards, TV, video, and other promotional materials. As such, logo submissions should be versatile and be able to be used in both b/w and (full and/or spot) color.

The purpose of the logo, and its accompanying campaign, is to represent Albuquerque as a fulfilling and exciting destination for members of the GLBTQ community. It should convey the personal growth and spiritual enrichment available to visitors as well as the social, cultural and outdoor activities available in the area. It should simultaneously communicate Albuquerque as a gay positive “live and let live” locale.

In other words, the GLBTQ traveler is interested in all of the same attractions as the straight traveler, but needs to know their destination is gay friendly and is a place they will feel safe. The logo needs to express the general appeal of Albuquerque and combine it with the Gay friendly and relaxed attitudes and atmosphere of the area. In addition this must be done in away that is not cliché.

The Mission for Destination Q is:
“The mission of Destination Q is to promote Albuquerque, our diverse attractions, cultures, cuisine and businesses to the GLBTQ traveler as a year-round gay and gay-friendly tourist destination.”

We will encourage our visitors to experience the diversity and many rich cultures and activities in gay friendly Albuquerque and the Land of Enchantment.

The logo must use “Destination Q”. It will also sometimes appear with the word “Albuquerque” and should therefore be presented with and without.

Submission criteria:
1 – All submissions will be supplied in PDF format and will be emailed to destination_q@ymail.com with “Logo Entry” in the subject title.

2 – The body of the email will include your name, address, phone number and email.

3 – The logo should be provided in b/w and color versions within the same PDF. If there is a spot color version of the logo please supply that in the same PDF with the PMS colors specified.
4 – Multiple submissions must be submitted individually.

Formats:

The winner(s) of the logo contest will need to provide the logo in b/w and color, in all of its iterations, in vector and rasterized formats including a PDF, JPEG, TIFF, GIFF, and EPS. Other formats, not included on this list, might be required.

Deadlines and deliverables:
Logo submissions are due July 10, 2009

The winner(s) will be announced no later than July 24, 2009

Fine Print:


Destination Q, Albuquerque may approach a number of entrants and ask them to make changes to their logo and resubmit them for consideration. Being asked to rework and resubmit a logo is not the same as being selected as the winner.

By submitting your logo for consideration you automatically agree to forfeit all rights over the work if selected, your logo becomes the sole property of Destination Q, Albuquerque and its agents.

If selected, your logo may not be sold in whole or part to any other party(ies) and may not be used for any purpose whatsoever other than self promotion.
