“Arté de Muertos” Expo is New Mexico's’ largest “Day of the Dead” arts event
happening on July 18-19, 2009 at the Santa Ana Star Casino Banquet rooms. Over 80 specialty artisans from all over New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado and Texas, will showcase an array of exceptional “Dia de los Muertos”, Santos, Ghosts, and Metaphysical themed mixed-media art items. This tri-annual event, first held in Bernalillo last April was a tremendous success and thanks to the public's’ fascination with the “Day of the Dead” celebration “Arted de Muertos” Expo continues to grow in size and popularity here. “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead) celebrates the memory and lives of loved ones who have died and is traditionally observed on November 1st and 2nd every year. The “Arté de Muertos” Expo presents the artist who create “Muertos” art but have had to hold out until “Dia de los Muertos” season in the Fall to showcase their work. Thanks to “Arte de Muertos” Expo, these talented artist now have April and July Expos to present their wonderful work to buyers and collectors. “Arted de Muertos” Expo offers free admission and free parking for the public.
Additionally, professionals in the paranormal and metaphysical fields will share their talents to round out the two day event. New Mexico’s best known ghost story author, Antonio R. Garcez, has confirmed his attendance for the entire weekend and will be signing all of his popular Ghost Story books. Garcez, an award winning author of nine best selling ghost stories books, has often been featured on national radio and TV programs, including “Americas Scarriest Places” hosted by famed ‘Exorcist’ actress, Linda Blair.
