US Census Bureau to Count Same-Sex Marriages in 2010

The Census Bureau has switched policy and reversed the Bush Administration's policy to not count same-sex marriages, whether legal or not.  The Obama Adminstration, after extensive lobbying, has finally changed the policy and will count same-sex marriages.  Check out this AP story.

Also in a little noted regulation change, gay couples can now use married names in passports.  Here is the AP story on this change based on an an amendment to the Code of Federal Regulations that took effect in February 2008.
