The New Mexico State Fair begins this Friday and for a fourth year the LGBT community is hosting a booth sharing our community with fair attendees.
This year several LGBT organizations have committed to host our booth for an entire day at the fair. Each day will be broken up into three (3) shifts with hopefully three (3) volunteers per shift. The three shifts are:
1. Morning (10am-1pm)
2. Afternoon, (1pm-5pm)
3. Evening (5pm-9pm)
The host organizations are attempting to staff the booth with members from their organizations. However, they need your help!!
Specifically, volunteers are needed for:
Sunday (9/13) One volunteer for each of the afternoon & evening shifts
Monday (9/14) Two volunteers for the afternoon shift
Monday (9/14) Three volunteers for the evening shift
Tuesday (9/15) One volunteer for each of the three shifts
Tuesday (9/22) Volunteers for all three shifts
Each volunteer will receive a free ticket and a parking pass. Either prior to or after your shift, you can spend the rest of the day visiting the other happenings at the fair.
Plus, if you've ever done it in the past, you know how rewarding hosting the booth can be.
If you'd like to volunteer for any of these shifts please contact Katherine Palmer at contact@pflagabq.org or 505-873-7373 for details and to sign up.
With everything that's happening in our community within New Mexico as well as at the National level, it is important to make the public aware of who we are. The Community booth at the State Fair provides that perfect opportunity.
Please join with the rest of our community.
