The New Mexico State Fair begins this Friday and for a fourth year the LGBT community is hosting a booth sharing our community with fair attendees.

This year several LGBT organizations have committed to host our booth for an entire day at the fair. Each day will be broken up into three (3) shifts with hopefully three (3) volunteers per shift. The three shifts are:
1. Morning (10am-1pm)
2. Afternoon, (1pm-5pm)
3. Evening (5pm-9pm)

The host organizations are attempting to staff the booth with members from their organizations. However, they need your help!!
Specifically, volunteers are needed for:
Sunday (9/13) One volunteer for each of the afternoon & evening shifts

Kick off Meeting - GLBT Community at NM State Fair

08/12/2009 6:00 pm

It's time again for the GLBT community to go to the State Fair and show New Mexico. "We Are a Rainbow of Colors” Every year our GLBT community booth attracts more people and provides valuable information regarding our entire community to thousands. From September 11-27, 2009 we can do it again.

In prior years preparation, funding and staffing for our community booth has been done by only a few organizations. The goal this year is to have active participation from all members of the GLBT community. To accomplish this, no organization's information will be included in the booth unless someone from their organization takes an active role. Therefore, all organizations are requested to send a representative to our Kick Off (informational) meeting scheduled for August 12th at 6:00 PM at EQNM located at 1410 Coal Ave., SW in Albuquerque. (Donations and booth volunteer sign up can be made at the Kick off meeting.)

Final Push – NM GLBTQ Needs Assessment – You can put us over the top

Hi All,

The New Mexico GLBTQ Community Needs Assessment is down to the wire; data collection ends this weekend. We still need about 100 responses to achieve maximum reliability of our results.

Future funding may very well depend on the number of responses to the NM GLBTQ Community Needs Assessment. We need every member of the GLBTQ community and our allies to complete the survey. If you have not completed the survey yet please do it now at http://NMglbtqCenters.needs.sgizmo.com. Also, please forward this email to your contacts and ask them to participate.

New Mexico GLBTQ Community Needs Assessment - Communities Missing - Please Help

Hi Everyone,

We are over half way to our goal of 400 responses to the New Mexico GLBTQ Community Needs Assessment Survey. While we have heard from many of you, we haven’t heard from areas like Alamogordo, Madrid, Placitas, Raton, Lordsburg, Silver City, Deming, Roswell, Carlsbad or Cloudcroft among others. If you live in one of those areas we especially want to hear what your needs and wants are. If you know someone in those areas or especially rural areas please share this information with them.

If you or someone you know would prefer to complete a hard copy of the survey let me know via email or leave a voicemail at 888-286-9306 with a mailing address. I will send out a copy of the survey and a postage paid return envelope.
