Future Event:

Come join us for a wonderful adventure into the Grand Canyon in November 2008. On Wednesday, November 12, 2008 we car pool to the Grand Canyon and stay at a hotel of one's own choosing. On Thursday we take a mule train to Phantom Ranch which is located at the bottom of the canyon near the confluence of the Bright Angel River and the Colorado River. There our accommodations will be in rustic cabins with beds and linen service. We will eat in the main building. Friday we will spend hiking about in the canyon. Perhaps we will hike the six or so miles to Ribbon Falls or wherever we choose. On Saturday we take the mules back up to the South Rim. The lunches on the way in and out of the canyon and meals at Phantom Ranch are part of the package. We again stay overnight and then come home Sunday.

These mule rides fill up fast so as soon as I have a check from interested parties I will make the reservations. The cost for the mule rides in and out of the canyon and the included nights and meals at Phantom Ranch will cost on the order of $440 per person. The more we get the cheaper will be the price. The hotels in the park cost from $89 to $175 for a room with 2 double beds. November is a good time to see the canyon as it is not hellishly hot. It is always warmer at the bottom than on the rim.

To join us call Tom Seamon at 797-1403 or 620-6260

Notice: if anyone is interested in getting together for GOLF then contact Bill at passiontoppok@aol.com.

Note: if you wish to volunteer to lead a last-minute activity (at least 2 days before) feel free to email me with the details. I will send out a special email to the members announcing the activity for you.
