Common Bond Honors Liz Canfield with New Endowment Fund
Common Bond, Albuquerque’s oldest LGBTQ+ organization, has reached a new milestone – our 40th Anniversary. To help assure that we’ll be here for the community for many more years, we have established an Endowment Fund to help safeguard the future of not just the organization but the important work of our programs. The Liz Canfield Memorial Endowment Fund also serves as an avenue for our nonprofit to process various unusual types of donations such as stocks, land or property, or should Common Bond be a beneficiary of someone's estate. In general, the Endowment Fund makes it easier for our generous supporters to contribute towards ensuring the organization's future rather than just providing for its present.
We have named it the Liz Canfield Memorial Endowment Fund, honoring her as the first straight ally who joined the Common Bond Board of Directors – and someone who worked ceaselessly for acceptance and equal rights for LGBTQ+ Americans.
